For my first blog post of 2013 I thought I'd share some of my personal and health-related goals:
1. Lose a minimum of 75 pounds this year.
2. Get back to eating 90% raw foods.
3. Exercise every day, even if it is only in 5 to 10 minute spurts.
4. Try out one new recipe each week and share about it on my blog.
5. Go out on dates with my husband at least twice a month.
6. Quit being a sideline spectator and get out and enjoy life!
If you'd like to see what my writing goals are for 2013, stop by PUTTING WORDS DOWN ON PAPER to check them out.
Happy New Year!

Hi Susanne! You and me both. I've promised myself to workout religiously this year. I absolutely have to. I think the hardest part is getting started, but once we do, we always feel so much better. I find I get addicted to it and have to workout daily in order to feel normal. That's a good place to be and I hope to find it soon.
Happy new year! May 2013 be all you hope for and more. :D
Good luck achieving your goals!
Happy New Year!
Best of luck on your goals, Susanne! You're much braver than I am. I would love to lose 50lbs, but I'm going to settle for 10. Mostly because I refuse to diet any longer, and haven't since 2010.
I did lose 12 lbs last year, only to gain 7 at Christmas. So rather than beat myself up about it, I'm back using MyFitnessPal.com. I'm also doing yoga. I'm also living moment to moment and reassuring myself that I don't need to fill the void with food. I'm learning to listen to my body and to detect faster when I'm full. Five pounds lighter than Jan'12 works for me.
Good luck! Happy New Year.
Great goals! Exercise is on my list as well ... even if it is only 10 minutes. That's better than nothing!! :)
Another set of great goals. I'd like to eat more raw... But I love hot food. Though we are in summer right now so salads are easy. I'm a big fan of the 10 minute per day exercise :)
Hi, PK! The hardest part of exercising is getting started. I keep hearing that doing something for 21 days makes it a habit. I hope you have a wonderful 2013!
Hi, Sherry! Thanks!
Hi, Joylene! I don't know if I'd say I'm brave. I've just finally wised up and decided that I'm tired of being sick due to health issues that can be improved upon by better eating and exercising. I'd actually like to lose more than 75 lbs this year, but I felt that was a good amount to work on for now.
Hi, Margo! Exactly! I'm more likely to get exercise in if done in smaller increments of time.
Hi, Michelle! I like hot foods, too. I also like meat, but my health is much better when I eat a mostly raw diet, so i need to get back to it and stick with it.
Wow! Those are some impressive and hefty goals! I wish you all the best with them!
Hi, Peggy! Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for posting these, Susanne. They sound like doable goals, and I wish you all the best for achieving them. I decided not to publicly post my own goals this year, but will quietly work away at them nonetheless.
Hi, Susan. Thank you! I decided to post my goals on both of my blogs as a way to try and stay accountable. I may share quarterly updates on how I'm doing with my goals or I may just wait until the year is done. Thanks for stopping by and best wishes with achieving the goals you have set for yourself.
